Hello
...hmmm ...my previous requests seems lost ....or forgotten :)
For the ID 429376lobzzn there stands now ..is not on file (means not exists or not yet on the queue ?) - an email at appeals@geocaching.com (as me the reviewer told to do so) also got lost...
Fits good to the purpose of my request for a Challenge of forgotten (or lost) Caches :):
I'm likely to place a Challenge with the purpose to find Caches that are unfound for 300 days and more:
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4QHKE
-its archived for contacting appeals ...so can not enter the english description:
the german version with english translation:
http://lg-attergau.lima-city.de/geocaching/challenge.html
--------------Copy of reviewer note (qualiflyer):
-This challenge requires cachers to find caches that have -not been
found for a long time - in this case 13 caches -that have not been found
for a total of 13 years in -2013, 14 caches-14years-2014 and so on.
-Personally, I have the concearn that there are not -enough caches to
solve this challenge, especially after -the first cachers in this area
have completed the -challenge. Furtermore, the challenge does not appeal
to -and is not attainable by a reasonable number of cachers, -as stated
in the guideline.
-The owner claims that there already exist a few -challenges with "forgotten caches", that's why I refer -this case to appeals.
-Thanks, best regards!
-Peter
End of reviewer note----------
According to project-gc.com (-the data comes from the APi -so it should be the same as looking trough the nearby lists on GC.com)
there are 425 Caches today alone in Austria unfound for 300 days or
more (and around 50 in the state of 290+ days unfound) ....
Austria is not that big ...in Germany there are more than 2000 in this
state. And austria has many neighbour-Countries (Qualiflyer stated the
local area).
There is no local - or time - restriction for this cache (in the
Guidelines for Challenges is stated that there are no date-restriction
is acceptable... everyone who looks on my example sees that there are
dates from previous years count)
The first Cacher who found the Challenge i think would not count (in my
Opinion there are many People alone in Austria (and much more in nearby
Germany) who already achived the goal to log this Cache... we have many
mountains and this Caches often get forgotten over the winter under
snow. )
I think Qualiflyer meaned one who starts with no Found who is over 300
days unfound... so he go out and find 13 Caches in the next 13 days
According to the site above: in this time 46 other Caches get in the
state over 300 days unfound ....maybe some get found... remains 25 "new"
forgotten Caches alone in Austria. (in wintertime there are going much
more Caches over this line - due to much snow in Austria :)) ...
Forgotten Challenges there on my Idea based:
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC26395_forgotten-cache-challenge
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC34RW6_lonely-caches-challenge
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC45AAZ_neglected-cache-challenge-of-the-east-kootenays (15 years)
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2WNMZ_drawkwards-extreme-lonely-challenge
reasonable number of cachers...i dont know what reasonable is ... the
most like here powertrails and neglect the often nearby short or longer
multis .... i think there are around 10 Cachers who will log it as found
yearround .(i have some mountaincaches who have 2 or 3 finds a year
...so if that is criteria for reasonable ...)
(The Cache is called FOR the forgotten dragons - there are some really
gems who often after some founds get forgotten ...and someone then crys
archive it! ...therefore would this challenge also help some older
Caches - and if the only purpose is to see if he is already findable)
Best regards
